Icelandic Cougar Playmaker
Cougar Nation lost a die hard on Friday.
My wife’s Grandpa, Bill, was one of the biggest BYU fans I’ve ever met. Not only that, but he was one of the greatest men I knew. I only met him 5 years ago, but from the first time we met, right after my wife and I got married, he treated me like I had been his grandson my entire life. He loved our daughter, and she called him her “Opa” (grandpa in German). He had a very short, very intense battle with prostate cancer, and passed on Friday. This is one of those moments where the Lord needed one of His soldiers back home soon, and it took the family by surprise how fast it happened. But it’s comforting to know he’s back with his parents, siblings, and countless others. The other side of the veil will have a little bit more royal blue this season, because Opa Bill will be cheering for the Cougs from a much more beautiful place.
