It would be interesting to see Andrew May hired back at BYU. He has been there previously in other roles within basketball, and has been working in basketball circles in the region for quite a long time. I think he's a pretty solid coach.
If Andrew May were to be hired, it does make me wonder how that would be much different than other available coaches that are in the region or were on the previous staff at BYU. Nick Robinson has been at the Y for 5-plus years, knows the program and BYU players well, has a pedigree of Stanford and previous coaching, and is an LDS minority coach. I wonder why you wouldn't opt to keep him rather than hire May. Collin Terry has already been coaching there, and though he is a recent add, he has NBA coaching experience in his recent past. Similar question. Keegan Brown has been director of strategy and analytics, and by all accounts is very good in that role and perhaps would want to step into a coaching role - and is already at BYU. Nate Austin - already at BYU.
So, it would just be interesting to me if May gets hired because there are at least 4 other folks associated with the basketball program (just on the men's side) who were already at the Y - will be interesting to see where they all land.
