The "Max Hall hates me" thing has been tired for a decade. Utah players have
said the same things Max Hall said and nobody ever even bats an eye at it. It's ridiculous that Utah fans continue to make a big deal out of something that people on both sides of the rivalry often say - and Max had a far better reason than most have for what he said due to the abuse his family experienced at Utah.
Alex Smith: "I'm much more into it this year," Smith says. "I really hate them. Playing in the game helped me understand. They are the most arrogant people. It's the whole church and state thing. They're the 'good kids'. We're the 'bad kids.' I didn't feel it in my gut last year like I do now."
Not to mention Paul Kruger, Eric Weddle, Stephenson Sylvester, etc. BYU fans rightfully give these guys a pass and even support them in many cases.
Who will be wearing the Alex Smith, Morgan Scalley, Paul Kruger, and Eric Weddle hate me shirts next year? Part of me hopes nobody, but part of me hopes that a lot of people will be wearing them.
