People end their lives over failed attempts to overcome addiction. I’ve had patients or known others who have struggled for years with crippling addiction, and it happens very innocently (usually as a result or poor post surgery pain management, etc.). Your buddy seems like a pathetic child, and I will be contacting individuals I know on Make a Wish to bring this matter to their attention.
