We have a Shih Tzu and a Corgi

They are polar opposites in every way. One sheds, one doesn’t. One barks, the other one is chill. One makes very little noise, the other sounds like Luke Skywalker’s Tonton. One is happy to sit on your lap. The other one is happy to rip your face off.

I use to think a labrador but I am pretty sold on my english setter. Great personality and great in the field.

Yep. Our experience too. I think some are more hyper. Ours has the perfect combo of playful when we want, mostly mellow.
