I sent him the following:
Phil,
As a BYU fan and Alum I wanted to express my appreciation for your interest in BYU. This issue of altering photos is a great concern to me and all BYU alums as it is, in essence, dishonest as you said in your article. The good news is that the Tribune article was wrong.
I was disappointed that you did not mention the follow-up articles that appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News regarding this issue.
The articles basically state that Rafa's (as he is affectionately called in Provo) tattoos were not altered in the Media Guide. Hopefully yours was a simple error because the treatment given Brigham Young University by the Salt Lake Tribune in their original article was very disappointing as it did not fairly present the facts.
Please see the following articles:

Furthermore I want to state that I am not embarassed by Rafael Araujo. He has represented the school well as a student athlete who has worked hard to improve his skills and talents. Hopefully he will continue to have success in the future.
