Is this the gist of what Colin Cowherd was saying on the radio yesterday?
"Now on to the talk of PAC 10 expansion and Utah joining the PAC 10 party. Here is what you need to know right now. The PAC 10 will be expanding. That fact has become just about undeniable with the Big 10s discussion of expansion to perhaps 16 teams. When the PAC 10 expands Utah WILL be part of the expansion plan. Right now the sticking point is who will join the PAC 10 along with Utah. My sources have told me that Colorado is the target, but the folks in Boulder arent sure they want to join the PAC 10. It will come down to where CU can make the most money. Right now the Big 12 has an unbalanced revenue sharing plan, where schools like Colorado get far less than the Texas and Oklahomas of the Big 12 South. If the PAC 10 can make a good revenue sharing pitch to Boulder, then my guess is the Buffs will leave and join Utah in the new PAC 12. The conference then gains two strong academic and athletic institutions as well as two Top 35 television markets.
Make no mistake about it, this will happen. The question now becomes when, not IF. This is good news if you are a Utah fan, not such good news if you are a BYU fan or Craig Thompson, the Commish of the MWC. Because the MWC stands to lose not only Utah, but likely TCU to the Big 12 when CU leaves. Even if the Mountain West adds Boise State the conference will not have the Vig it has right now and any momentum for BCS inclusion could likely be gone.
The biggest domino in the entire conference expansion game is Texas. Give this Dennis Dodd article a read, its a good one. Stay tuned the next couple of months should be a ton of fun, unless you are on the outside looking in."
