But if you have to make 14 or 15 yards for a first down, you have some time to make up that distance. And if the the WR is lined up in the slot position, you have a bit of a cushion. Also, the called coverage should be one where you get a good "angle of pursuit". I'm not guaranteeing a 4th and 11, only a 4th and short, with sufficiently fast punter and protector guys.
