Cautious about what? How is his presence back on the court create any risk for anyone?

"Some guy in a suit" sounds more like some rent-a-bouncer who was enjoying a bit of a power trip. Not sure there's anyone outside a ref or a BYU coach who could or should have anything to say about Baker returning to the floor after the game, and according to the rule, the refs' job (and authority) is done at that point.
