You make a really good observation. I think we have high-level point guards in Demin and Hall but there is something we miss a bit with them.
I noted in another thread:
Hall and Demin are both pretty high-level PG in the system we run. What we are missing, though, is the quick PG who has the ball handling skills to more efficiently and quickly get by a defender, break down a defense, or effectively get to the rim or create his own shot. Both Hall and Demin can shoot 3's off the bounce, and Hall is probably a better 3-pt shooter that way than catch and shoot.
BUT, we are missing the Tamin Lipsey type - as are most teams. Trey Stewart probably has the athleticism for that kind of role if needed, just not the offensive skills or ball handling ability. Elijah Crawford is the other guy on our roster with that potential, but he's still so young and wasn't there yet obviously this season. Here's hoping Crawford can become that guy. That would vastly expand what KY could do with game plans and running his style of offense.
