The wives of these NCAA athletes are superstars, especially those who have children, which many do at BYU. I can’t even imagine how a player is paying rent without a scholarship (all college students, at the Utah rent rates), let alone still working, being a dad, going to class, and still working out individually, going to practice, and traveling with the team. The wives I have met, of former BYU players, are a close knit group, because they really are working hard to make sure their husband is ready for game day. They don’t get a lot of credit, but are a big part of BYU’s success, considering that about 1/2 the team is married, most seasons.
