I'd choose Cleveland for the following:
1. NFL + NBA + MLB
2. Closer proximity to a lot more interesting stuff - actually a half day drive from DC and NYC or Chicago or Palmyra and just a couple of hours from Pittsburgh
3. More there there - some incredible 19th century architecture and some great culture
4. Less boring
