Daughter eating disorder update: my daughter is doing great. She doesn't have
anorexia or bulemia. It's primarily OCD related, which for her has just latched on to food. She spent almost 3 months at the Center for Change where she was able to hit her goal weight after gaining 30 pounds. She is up over 40 pounds from when I brought her to the ER in February of last year.

This week she has started an outpatient OCD program. She hates talking therapy and apparently it doesn't do much for OCD. This program is exposure based where they build up your tolerance over time to things you have OCD or anxiety about. Have several social anxiety and play the guitar? You will probably end up playing for the class. Struggle with OCD/anxiety about constantly being afraid you will throw up (which I guess is a real thing)? They have a jar of fake vomit that you will hang out and probably stick your hand in it at some point.

My daughter will work towards eating with her group, something that she will not do at this time. Mom or Dad have to be with her or she won't eat.

We're doing online school right now and shooting for her to go back after she finishes this program. This program claims a 50% reduction in symptoms so we shall see.
