thanks man, it hasn't always been easy from being ridiculed in HS for wearing Cougs gear and not pulling for the local Univeristy of WAshington. pretty much always been a dryspell for cougar fandom but I love to travel and I have to nearly every single away venue that was P5 or had any historacal reason to visit. I love traveling wearing my cougar gear b/c I always get asked questions and it's a familial fan base. Sometimes, well often times people assume your LDS on here or otherwise and use terms that I have no idea what they are talking about but i've learned what most everything is. That is prob the biggest hurdle to our fan base is the exlusionary way members of the LDS faith talk. I have friends that are long time Notre Dame, USC, and Texas fans and it seems like they are much more inclusionary.... thats prob the biggest hurdle to attracting people like me is the way people speak, they don't want to be friends with you if you drink which I do or get weird looks on the road if your not living like a lot of the LDS fan base. I think it should be OK to be a BYU fan from wherever you come from look like or what church you go to. Does all that make sense...i'm not sure how to put it in words, BYU fans are just kinda wierd in lots of ways, not as friendly (in some ways), don't tailgate etc etc. YOu know what i'm talking about....needs to be addressed, fixed and needs to be more welcoming to make the fan base more diverse. Ok enough typing, you prob won't even see this. Thanks for letting me chat.
