From what I understand the tie in only pertains to former teams getting invites to those pac 12 tie in games.....but the bowl money goes to the team that played and not to the Pac 12 unless WSU played in it.

I believe so. Courts ruled that former conference teams lost their post season payouts. IIRC it wasn’t just NY6/CFP
