bait from a somewhat phoney "used car salesman" like coach. He looks you right in the eye and tells you what he thinks you want to hear when he wants something from you. In hindsight, I suspect that that may have been the root of some of the players that left BYU while he was here, as they experienced that and didn't like it.
Pope talked like BYU was a "special place," then didn't even mention them for weeks after leaving, and tried to lure BYU's best players to pad his roster, even though he had access to a ton of similar level talent. He didn't have to do that, and shouldn't have, IMO. Pope is IMO less genuine than he is genuinely self-serving.
But as far as Jackson Robinson, I had my concerns about him at BYU, as far as full on effort and engagement when he was not getting a ton of shots falling. He kinda dropped out at times, when not the "center" of the offense. But, he certainly was getting talk about going reasonably high in the craft when he finished up last year. Now, with his role at UK, I'm pretty sure he's dropped some considerable spots in that conversation.
