This point brings out the dissonance about having a great team without a great QB and it's tearing the board apart.
Well....dare I say, that the team we just watched in 2024 BYU...is the confluence of what we were all expecting from when Kalani first became the head coach at BYU? I mean, when he came to BYU...we were all expecting this monster Defense that was going to shut teams down....finally BYU was going to have this game changing defense to go along with the high flying BYU offense.
Well...I'm kinda thinking what we saw this year, a great defense with a serviceable offense was exactly like those championship seasons Utah had. Other than the Alex Smith years, Utah, has been known for having a fantastic defense and will do just enough on offense to win games. "Defense wins championships" mind set.
Maybe, we as BYU fans, need to re-adjust our mind set...that we we are going to have the equivalent of a fantastic defense, and will do enough on offense to win games. The more I think of it, the more I think Arod will be around for a long time, because he will do just enough to score enough points to win games...as long as we keep Hill and keep this defense playing lights out and shut down other teams offense.
Thoughts?
