I HATED my career. I changed that by doing this one weird trick.
In Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" he talks about how to grow your sphere of influence. It is by focusing on solving problems that are within your sphere of influence and focusing less on what is outside of your sphere of influence. If you hate something, probably someone else hates it. Better yet, if you are getting paid a lot of money (for an employee) and you hate something, that should be a massive clue.

Usually you hate something at work because the process you are following seems absolutely stupid. Or, the way people advance is by politicking. Toxic work environment. This usually is an environment where there is a lot of friction associated with getting the core work done.

No one ever said to me, "Hey, grosven, how do I get your job!?!?" I promise that I had a pit in my stomach every Sunday night. It wasn't until I really focused on the pain, and worked backwards to start finding solutions.

I finally started focusing on making it easier to do things that were just a pain in the butt. Before I knew it I was starting to get really passionate about serving my clients, my teams, and my bosses just usually liked what I did--not always.

Now I'm the founder of a pretty cool company in Utah that is growing at a bonkers clip and we're making peoples lives better. I won't stop until we destroy the things that suck the most about my industry. It's a wonderful life.
