Watching the game last night - I think it was a Bowling Green player who they said was going to be playing for Arizona next year, but wanted to be in this game with his guys.

So - if I understood correctly - he must've been in the portal in order for AZ to contact him and get him signed to go there. And he had his next destination picked out. But he still played the game.

How much of players being in the portal not playing is the coaches telling them if they're in the portal they're out, or the players deciding if they're in the portal they are pulling back from their current team? And how much do the portal rules keep players from playing?
