The first time I watched it, I had been warned that Vic and Walt get together in the end, so I was braced for it to happen. My wife did not know before hand that Vic would get together with Walt, so she was pretty devastated and angry about how the show ended. Cady trying to become the sheriff was also forced and weird.

Second time through, I had hoped that the whole Vic/Walt thing would be easier to stomach. It still felt pretty icky. Cady running for sheriff felt even less fitting. Jacob Nighthorse and Mathias both came out more favorably in this rewatching.

Still really like the show. The ending was a crash landing.
