I learned long ago that arguing with clueless people is a complete waste of time. Facebook, X, whatever platform doesn't matter. Bickering with nameless, faceless people on the Internet is pointless.

Friendly banter, repartee, witty comebacks, interesting alternatives to consider, putdowns, etc. are all fine.

You don't have to agree with me but you do have to be reasonable, rational, and respectful. If you can't manage that, I'm kind of over you.

I give them a chance to show that they can be reasonable but I'm certainly not in it for the long haul.
