Big part of the expanded playoff is making the regular season more meaningful
BYU was in the discussion the very last week, even after 2 losses.
The other part of the expanded playoff is money of course.
Back in the BCS days, the computers did an excellent job of getting it right and giving us a “true” championship game, but it really a lot of teams very quickly too
