Once we had kids, we wanted to create our own traditions at home. However, we
have always made it clear that our parents have an open invitation at Christmas and Thanksgiving. And they have taken us up on that a few times.
Spending nearly our entire married life living 2,000 - 6,000 miles away has also played a part in that. I'm sure if we lived a lot closer, it would be different. But Christmas morning was still at home.
