Theres good reasons why its big outside of the US and completely useless here -
1. We stopped charging per SMS like 20 years ago.
2. We don't charge long distance to send messages across state lines. Our Euro buddies could have neigbors 10 miles away in a different country with different country codes and long distance rates.
3. Iphones are more popular here in the US.
