When was the last time Shanahan paid a QB? Jimmy G in 2018. It was the largest contract in NFL history by APY
I’m going to be honest, you have no idea what you’re talking about. There are several things I disagree with:
Zach will not get paid $5-10 million.
If he does go to the Niners, it will be as a backup for ~$2-3 million.
It will not be to compete with Brock Purdy.
The Niners do not thing they would do better with Wilson. They could have gotten Wilson this past offseason and chose not to.
Will they pay Brock $60 million? Maybe. I think the number will be closer to $50, but we’ll see.
If the Niners do let Brock walk (they won’t), they will replace him with an older QB with more experience.
Again, Shanahan paid big money to the starter before Purdy.
The money situation is a big deal. But I promise, there is no world where the Niners are waiting for Zach Wilson to save the day, even if Zach played for free.
