Yes, let’s look at Sam Darnold’s career after New York
He went and started in Carolina, then got benched.
Then he was second string in San Francisco (behind Brock Purdy).
Then, after being a solid backup, he went to Minnesota to be the bridge QB until JJ McCarthy was ready.
Compared to Zach: third string in Denver behind freaking Jarrett Stidham.
Why would the Niners not go after Stidham? He beat out Zach. Why would the Niners try and sign a third string QB to replace their starter over the past three years? Especially when Purdy’s worst season is miles ahead of Zach’s best?
