Make no mistake, the current CFP is an artificial structure designed to siphon as much money and attention to the B1G/SEC/ESPN/ABC/Disney-industrial complex for the next several years while we wait for the P2 to arrive with their own self-contained playoff ecosystem.
At that point the rest of the college football world can create their own playoff system and call it a genuine national championship playoff. We'll incorporate the best of your ideas then. And we'll largely ignore the P2's junior-NFL fantasy that is neither a true national championship nor as good as the actual NFL.
