Compared with last year our center play defensively is not great. While both centers are good players and have athleticism and skills, they’re not great at team D. I don’t think they understand or react well to all of the nuances of the game. They both look like they’re a few years behind the other players as far as the feel of team defense. Keita is flat footed a lot and Foos, it’s just not his strength. Last year Khalifa was good at team D. While Atiki was not great at team D his length and ability to move actually made him a pretty good defender. Also, Khalifa and Atiki are quite a bit bigger than Keita and Traore.
