It’s a cultural health and living problem, not primarily a ‘healthcare’ problem
Blaming the healthcare system is like blaming the education system for a kid who has no parental support or learning at home. Americans are extremely sedentary, eat 2-3 times the calories they should, eat way too much processed foods, smoke and drink. Change the behaviors of society and the food industry should be the focus. But that is hard, so we will keep blaming “the healthcare industry”.

Btw, the focus on reducing healthcare costs in isolation is to reverse the exploding administrative costs, far too many administrators, too few actual deliverers of healthcare.
