game as escalated across all levels from high school to the NFL. Given the new type of off platform QB prototypes like Mahomes becoming the new established QB type the number of blocked passes has escalated over the past several seasons.
Retzlaff can use his height to work over and around potential blockers. Dampier is a college football "5'10"" which we all know means he is most likely anywhere from 1 to 2 inches shorter. Having that deficit behind todays football trenches means imo a higher risk of being swatted and thus forcing his game to be predictable in terms of rolling out or five to seven stepping back out of the shotgun. I am not excited about this at all.
Now Utah did sign a kid for the 2025 class (Wyatt Becker) who looks like a legit QB and Dampier might just be an emergency in case this kid isn't ready to show up as a true freshmen. I would think they grab another two portal QBs before this is all over.
