Just got back from 2 wks in France and have jet lag. My late night observations:

Why France is great
- High speed rail is awesome and public transit was working impeccably this trip (I have felt the wrath of strikes in the past)
- Versailles was maybe the highlight of the trip. What an incredible “chateau”. If you ever go, definitely ride the petit train or get a golf cart because the property is massive and beautiful.
- Museum scene is amazing, and Paris museum pass is worth it if you have the tolerance. D’Orsay with the Rick Steves audio tour was a highlight. Most places we didn’t wait in any lines.
- Nutella biscuits are amazing as are many of their grocery store treats.
- Generally felt very safe in both Paris and Lyon even though for the first time I felt quite a lot of travel anxiety. I think that’s just me getting older and not traveling enough consistently.
- Towel warmers

Why America is great
- For better or worse, we have way better creature comforts here except for towel warmers.
- Getting home and seeing our two cars in the garage was a highlight.
- At least at our Airbnbs WiFi was spotty. Getting home and having super fast WiFi everywhere is nice.
- Easy access to Costco and things like protein drinks. Ate way too much bread in France.
- English! Let's go English!!

Other
- CB is useless all day
- American sports were hard to watch due to timing. Given the amount of time I waste watching sports this probably isn’t the worst thing.
