The only way that is possible is if

ASU is ranked 10 or better, Clemson is ranked #11 and SMU is ranked #12

That means ASU would have to move up 5 spots and Clemson would have to move up 6 spots while SMU drops 4 spots

More likely I see ASU and Clemson both staying outside the top 12, SMU dropping to #10

Then ASU getting the 4th seed, bumping SMU to #11 seed and Clemson taking the 12th seed bumping #11 bama and #12 miami out
