I’ve been to several of his Hs games live. He obviously has the name, impressive physical traits and the wrestling background-which he is dominant at- but has really proven nothing on the football field individually or team. Blame it on the QB who can’t throw, double teams or whatever but nothing to write home about, weak career stats and his team stinks. Lower division Oregon football with losing record. At the level they play it only takes 1-2 good guys to do very well but Canby has been bad.

Would have loved to have see him compete against the D1 athletes in the next towns over West Linn, tualatin, and Lake O that play serious football. Major trend of the best athletes transferring to these few schools literally across the river, he had the opportunity and considered it but didn’t. Just my opinion, but I think he’s had the BYU offer for years and felt no need to transfer and compete. If he wasn’t offered after 9th grade on his name, you better believe he would have transferred (he announced he was transferring to one of these schools only to backtrack this summer after BYU offer became committable) to show if he can play and earn the P4 scholly. Just my 2 cents.

I’d love to be proven wrong and seems like a great kid but nothing about his football career yet suggests he will do anything at BYU. I wish him and all BYU recruits the best!
