When I got to Brazil a little over a year ago the exchange rate was about 5 to 1
Today it is over 6 Real to 1 Dollar. Thing is local inflation hasn’t been that bad.

Colombian peso was about 2000:1 20 years ago. Now it's 4000:1

All these exchange rates quoted are probably different on the streets too. You can get 50% over official rates
