Last season he was the better MLB after Bywater or Tooley-whichever was playing MLB. He was better than Taggart, IMO. Then Esera got hurt and missed spring ball while Taggart played and now Taggart appears to be the better player. I don't think it made sense to move him to DE last year as he was playing well and ahead of Taggart at MLB. With his injury he likely wasn't able to play until late into the recent summer camp so IMO it was too late for a position change but now that he is healthy and can play an entire spring at that position I would think it makes sense.

Seems to me in an effort to get the best 11 defensive athletes on the field a change is warranted.
