I'm nowhere near practice and don't know what he does in his down time. Given his effort on the field and listening to his comments over the last year, he offers every indication of a dude who's motivated and willing to put in the work. But I know nothing beyond what's in the media.
A month ago, my appraisal would've been a bit better, as he'd trended away from some of the awful turnovers and misses, some of which have resulted from equally dubious decisions. Him having the ball batted down continuously hadn't really surfaced as an issue either. Now? I'm less sure that erratic Retzlaff is going to be fully exorcised.
That said, he has sufficient arm strength. He certainly seems smart and capable, and again, motivated. A full year as the starter under his belt certainly cannot hurt. He has access to top notch private coaching. Decisions can improve, and some of his missed throws seem to be a matter of putting too much juice on it unnecessarily. These items seem controllable.
How good can 2025 Retzlaff become?
