Clemson being at #12 in the rankings ahead of the entire Big 12 is a ranking I simply don't understand. Not only did they get absolutely destroyed by Georgia, but then they went and got dominated at home by Louisville. Clemson has no Top 25 wins on their resume.
Meanwhile South Carolina is ahead of the entire Big 12 despite losing 3 games. They've looked better on the field than Clemson, but all of these 3 loss SEC teams being ahead of the Big 12 leaders with only 2 losses is so frustrating.
I'm not sure whether to root for South Carolina to knock Clemson out or to root for Clemson and then hope they get beat down in the ACC title game.
Basically there are 6 spots between BYU and the #12 ranking we'll need to get into the playoff as an at-large if we win and don't get into the Big 12 CCG (I know its a pipe dream, but it makes watching games more fun). With Tulane falling to Memphis, that number is down to 5. Here are the other teams that could potentially drop with a loss:
Boise State vs Oregon State
Ole Miss vs Miss State
Alabama vs Auburn
Georgia vs Georgia Tech
Miami vs Syracuse
SMU vs Cal
Tennessee vs Vanderbilt
Notre Dame vs USC
The Clemson-South Carolina game is the one game I really don't know who to pull for. My default it usually anti-SEC but Clemson's hallow resume is especially frustrating this year.
