The more recent the ranking, the more information, the less preseason name brand hangover remains and thus the more accurate. Sorry you’re wrong. I guess an adjustment to top 16 now that CFP now is a current ranking.

By your (il)logic Arizona has a top 10 win over Utah and ASU has a top 25 win over Utah (CLEARLY inaccurate, one of the worst P4 teams)
BYU has a win over unranked SMU (CLEARLY inaccurate - now #9)
FSU!!!!!!, Arizona, Northern Illinois, GaTech, Louisville, USC, BC, Nebraska, Michigan, LSU, OK St (the worst P4 team?), Oklahoma, Vandy... all count as Top 25 wins. Some count as TOP FIVE wins. That makes sense. Literally no one not a fan of a Florida based team or an ACC fan is excited about TOP TEN FSU wins this year.
