Funny, you only ever hear people call a QB "gamer" when he's not very good.
You never hear anyone say, "Tom Brady was a real gamer" or "Patrick Mahomes is a gamer."
It's always "Bryce Young is a gamer" or "Anthony Richardson makes a ton of mistakes and is wildly inaccurate, but he sure is a gamer."
Just an observation.

Last two games he had game-altering interceptions he couldn’t overcome.

So falling behind 21-3 vs Utah and ASU was all Jake's fault? He pulled off one of them and nearly both. Difficult.

I'm just curious, but what FBS quarterback are you comparing him to?

I may have misinterpreted. You're saying he couldn't overcome them in the game?

Agreed. Sports fans often ignore the full body of work, focusing on the miscues.

Interestingly, Retzlaff's numbers are fairly close to another BYU JC QB's Jr stats ... Steve Sarkisian.

TDs and INTs are similar. Sark far superior in completion % and passing yards.

Sark also played a far inferior schedule and had a far inferior record.

Sark also had far more passes attempted which led to his "superior passing yards". Ok guy?

I’d argue his passes completed led to that.

Funny how the anti-Retzlaffs never want to talk about level of competition when comparing him to other BYU QBs
