I don’t think the analytics take into account certain elements like pressure.

Being up 8 puts the other team in a far tougher spot than up 7. And it’s essentially a guarantee whereas the 9 point lead is 50/50ish.

I’m sure the analytics are pretty solid. This is a multi billion dollar industry

It probably comes down to if 2 point conversions are above or below 50 %.
