I thought the division idea went away so teams had the best chance of another quality win in a championship game for the 4 team playoff committee to consider.

With the expanded playoffs a potential national champion is less likely to be left out of the playoff altogether and these tiebreaker rules seem convoluted.

Why not have 2 divisions? Play everyone in your division then 1 or 2 crossover games and determine division champ by record with standard tiebreaking rules of games vs. common opponents.
