Uh, no. 22-37 for 297 yards 1 TD / 2 INTs doesn't get you benched it makes him
the HIGHEST PERFORMING PLAYER ON THE TEAM, per PFF.
As for the notion that if he replicated 1 TD and 2 INTs every game he'd be benched - kind of a pointless hypothetical since he has thrown 20 TDs to 10 INTs this year, which is a better ratio than a number of good and great BYU QBs had at a similar stage of development.
The offense struggled in the first half. The running game couldn't get untracked.
The defense was as bad or worse for the same stretch.
