As a nerd, my take is that most D&Drs have moved over to games like Warhammer.
There is a larger craft-hobby-paint aspect of Warhammer... and more of the 'nerd types' have moved over to that game. Its also more strategic and the games don't last as long.
Just google 'warhammer game stores near me' to understand how popular stuff like that is..
