Be careful going to the inlaws for Thanksgiving dinner
We have a pretty large family gathering for Thanksgiving dinner.

One year a young couple insisted that they wanted to do Thanksgving dinner and have it at a place by them. This was a couple I didn't know or know anything about them.

Fortunately someone who did know them said they would do the turkeys and some more items were assigned out for various people to bring.

The young couple was left with a variety of sides to prepare.

So we get to dinner and the turkey was fine, there were the usual good side dishes.

But it turned out this young couple was vegan. So they had prepared several vegan sides. They had intended to do the entire dinner but fortunately that didn't happen.

Those vegan sides were some of the worst things I've ever seen at a dinner. I can't even describe them because I didn't eat any of them. I tried tasting a couple and they were terrible. Made with whatever it is vegans are willing to eat from vegan recipes. I put a couple of them on my plate but couldn't eat them and managed to toss them without disappointing the hosts.

So don't go to a vegan dinner. Unless of course you are vegan and understand what you are getting into.
