I'm booking flights to Europe and have my choices on the screen ready to buy, I
then think to myself "self, which credit card should I use? The one that offers me the best travel protections..." So I pull out a couple of cards I keep for travel and to remind myself which one is best and confirm that the protections are in place, I google them *real quick* on another monitor and see that one is better than the other and the protections are still in place.

As I turn back to the purchase screen on the other monitor to complete the purchase, it goes gray and times out as I lay my hands on the keyboard. Rats... I go back through the whole process, choosing the same flights, entering all the passenger info and find the fares have doubled.

I'm not stupid, so I change browsers, still the fares are doubled. OK, then, I'll just use incognito mode and book the old fares...nope, doubled. I then physically change computers thinking that some cookie has been left behind...nope, doubled.

Is this their way of making me even more rabid about booking the next time the original fares come up, a penalty for doubting them in the first place and waiting too long? I had gotten all the way through seat selection, so I KNOW there are literally dozens of seats still available in business class.

Any tricks to get back to square one? Or do I just wait a few days and try again?
