If so, what indicator did said BYU coach give you that he would surely do better than 10-2 vs. a Big 12 schedule?
Also, I'm guessing you were talking "ceiling" on another thread b/c I didn't see ceiling mentioned on this one. You kinda sprang that on your own after I responded to what I took as a disparaging tone towards the idea of Kalani going 10-2. My thought is that 10-2 in year 2 of P4 play, without the full financial benefits kicking in and with only 1 year of P4 recruiting, is pretty incredible for BYU. We don't historically spend more, recruit better, or win at a rate vs. P4 schools that suggests that we shouldn't be thrilled with 10-2 at this stage for our program.
You or anyone else is welcome to disagree. My current feeling is that 1) whining about BYU at this point in the 2024 season is rooted in expectations that aren't grounded in any kind of historical precedent and 2) fretting about the loss to Kansas being indicative of our ceiling seems a bit hysterical.
Perhaps I'm wrong. I'm happy to hear why.
