That's the way byu looks at it... instead of reducing tuition a lot for a few, the church gives a scholarship to everyone and subsidizes tuition. So it's helpful to remember how the church is looking at it.

I know you're asking about scholarships on top of that but when struggling to understand why it's so hard to get a byu scholarship, it's good to remember everyone is really getting one.

As to getting more then just the cheap tuition, it's pretty much 4.0 and ACT of 32+. And then it's only for a year, intentionally so, with rare abilities to renew if you maintain a 3.9
