During independence, today was the day that we woke up no longer having that feeling that cultivated from week to week while undefeated, the hope that “this is our year”, dreams of having a team that we’ll look back on with the joy that 84 brought, that 96 brought, etc. dreams of being one of the big dogs in the college football world.

This does not explain 2021 at all. We still had the B12 champion to face, and we already beat the would be Pac12 Champ. . . BYU had tons to play for after one loss.

Plus, who doesn't look back fondly on 2021, that was BYU's best season post-lavell. . . .Sucks we choked in our bowl game though.
