I know Jo Beck was an NFL QB. I think JR probably isn't. So yes. I see that gap.
That said, my core argument is not about the comparative talent but the comparative development timeline.
In BYU football history very few QBs have been thrust into the starting spotlight as abruptly as JR was. And while we say "OH JC experience!" - he didn't even have a position coach. He might as well have still been in high school.
