What you posted in your OP is contradicted by the actual attendance data.
Attendance this season has been fantastic. That's not "polishing a turd." That's accurately showing, with data, that attendance this far has been 180 degrees from what you suggested.
You based your whole argument on 1000 tickets not yet being sold for tonight's game.i would guess, as per previous experience, most of those will sell by game time. But, if not the attendance will still be higher than any other Big 12 game today, over 61,000.
